Letter From our Chapter

Welcome to Delta Delta Delta’s Gamma Xi Chapter!

The Tri Delta chapter at Furman is so excited that you are interested in learning more about the Greek Community! We would love to share a bit of Tri Delta’s history and the values that are so special to our members. Tri Delta was founded at Boston University in 1888 by women who wanted to create an organization that would “be kind alike to all and think more of the girl’s inner self and character than of her personal appearance.” Today, members of the Gamma Xi chapter continue to live out our values of scholarship, self-sacrifice, and steadfast love.

In addition to our sisterhood, Gamma Xi has a strong commitment to serving others through our national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as our local partnership with the Children’s Hospital at Greenville Health System. We are very fortunate to partner with these organizations and support them through our annual events such as DHOP, Delta Dunkin’, and a sisters-only letter writing event, “Sincerely Yours”!

The Tri Delta women at Furman enjoy being involved in organizations all over campus including Admission Ambassadors, Orientation Staff, Heller Service Corps, Shucker Leadership, campus ministries, and so much more! While our members have unique hobbies and interests, we are all brought together and encouraged by our passion for steadfast love and kindness.

Membership in Tri Delta has allowed us to find a forever home so much greater than just the Furman community. In addition to the Gamma Xi members we hold so dear to our hearts, there are 144 collegiate chapters all over the United States with members that value the same principles that have made such an impact in our lives.
